The Preschool

Yesterday our team went to a preschool to minister to some children and to the moms of a preschool. It was so great to minister to the children. We were able to play with them for about an hour and then do their chapel service. I got to play with several girls. Once they figured out that I couldn't speak Japanese they would grab my hands with their little hands and drag me around and point. They were so fun to be with. One of the girls in particular would not let go of me and didn't like the idea of me playing with someone else. She just wanted to be with me or for me to hold her. It makes you wonder why she feels like she needs to hold on so tightly? Just knowing that us playing with them and showing them who Jesus was made my day. They are all precious children! We were then able to sing with them and share the Gospel.

Afterwards we were able to minister to the moms. We sang some songs, I shared my testimony, Aaron spoke something from his heart and we did a skit. My testimony, the skit and what Aaron spoke on all went together hand in hand. I shared how Jesus set me free from anxiety attacks and went through the vein of how I would always try and do well on tests but in the process of studying would be so overwhelmed with stress that I couldn't do it. But Jesus came and took away the stress and told me that just trying my best was okay. Then we did a skit on how Jesus loves us even when we seemingly fail. Aaron did a great job by bringing it all home and went into more detail of the skit and explaining more into who Jesus is. We then all went and ministered to the moms on a one on one basis and there was immediate fruit brought forth. Toni Lynn was able to share the gospel with one of the moms and she accepted Jesus.

At one point I was looking around at everyone and was struck that the name of Jesus in Japanese and He longs for His name to be called on. I was beginning to feel Jesus' desire for His name to be called upon in Japan. Jesus knows Japanese and loves the people here but so few know Him and the ones that do it is so hard for them to have a context to grow in their faith and to keep it. One of the moms loves Jesus so much and as I watched her throughout the afternoon I would watch her try and hold back the tears. She would tell me in her broken English how much she loved Jesus and I knew how much she was touched. Jesus is longing for the Japanese people and many of the children and moms may never hear the Gospel ever again. But they were able to hear it and I know Jesus' heart went to them.

Much Walking, Much Evangelizing

Yesterday we were at Waseda University doing a variety of activities. We did 2x2 evangelism, prayer walking, and we did some singing in Japanese and English right in the center of the campus. I think that my highlight was definitely the singing. We set up in the middle of the campus a few times and we just sang to The Lord. When people would start to look at us one by one we would go and talk to them. At one point, Toni Lynn got up and did open air preaching/singing. It was awesome. She prophesied over the campus and from there we all jumped on and turned it into an intercession time for Waseda and Japan. Kenneth played guitar while we all sang our prayers to The Lord. It was an awesome time. I'm so proud of our team how they stepped up today as we had about 7 or 8 hours of just walking and ministering. Toni Lynn got to pray with someone to receive Christ! She will write about it in a blog post soon hopefully.

During the evening from about 6-8pm we teamed up with some people from YWAM and some of us did outreach in the student lounge of Waseda and the other half of us did prayer walking around the campus. It was a good time to be with other believers on campus. We had similar passions and visions for Japan.

Today (it is about 6am here) we will minister at a pre school all morning. During the afternoon we will minister to the mothers of the children and do a special outreach. Please pray for fresh anointing for our team, healing because some of us are sick, and boldness that we would preach The Word!

Todai Bible study

Today we ministered at Todai University in Tokyo. We had a Bible study in the morning which started off with worship. The presence of the Lord was with us. After worship, I shared my testimony about encountering the love of the Father. Then Robert shared what was on his heart out of Luke 15. He talked about the father in Luke 15 loving the son. It was a really good word for the Japanese students to hear. After the Bible study we got lunch with some of the locals, including Sean, who is from China. His family sent him to Tokyo to go to school, and since then, Sean has become a Christian. Our time of fellowship with the Japanese was pretty beneficial for our team. We spent a couple minutes going around the campus to strike up conversations with people. I am so proud of our team for being flexible today. We are all venturing into different ministry contexts. Tomorrow we have a full day at Waseda University. Pray for grace for our team. A couple of us are not feeling very well.

over 20 hours later

We made it!!! So after a long trip going from plane to plane alittle over 20 hours later we made it to Narita Airport. After that it took us over 2 hours to take a bus and the train to the place we are staying at with all our luggage. But we made it to our place of residents safe and sound by the Lords grace.
So tomorrow we will be our first full day in Japan. We will be heading to Todai (Tokyo University) where we will leading a bible study with different young believers who attend the university. Also some evangelism on campus after the bible study. God is going to do amazing things as we strength believers and speak to the lost.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we shine the light of Christ in Japan.

Goals for 21 days in Japan

Our main goal in going to Japan is to reach the lost.. We have set up different outreaches, most of which will be taking place on college campuses. We will be ministering in two by two evangelism, as well as bible studies, which unbelievers will also be attending. We will also be playing sports with college and high school students, which will allow us to preach the gospel to them.
Our next goal is to awaken the Bride of Christ in Japan and set her heart on fire for Jesus. We will be going to different congregations where we will leading worship in English and Japanese and we will also be preaching.
